At the heart of The Academy is a rigorous triple threat approach, combining advanced training in dance, singing, and acting. Students will work closely with experienced professional tutors, whose industry backgrounds ensure every class reflects the discipline, expectations, and standards of leading vocational training and professional practice.

Vocational & professional pathways

The Academy is designed to complement and significantly enhance students’ existing training, providing a focused, disciplined environment in which technical precision, artistic development, and performance quality are consistently advanced. Alongside technical refinement, students will develop professionalism, resilience, and an uncompromising work ethic—essential attributes for progression into vocational and professional pathways.

Through a carefully structured programme of training, performance opportunities, and ongoing evaluation, students will be systematically prepared for entry into full-time vocational colleges, equipped with the technical ability, creative intelligence, and professional mindset required for success in the industry.

WHEN

The Academy runs on Thursdays during term time from 8:30am – 3:30pm.

Students are grouped according to both age and ability, ensuring each individual is placed in an environment that is appropriately challenging, highly focused, and developmentally precise.

WHO

The Academy is accessible to students who are home educated, as well as those undertaking a blended learning approach alongside mainstream schooling.

Complete Dance Studios provides full support for this pathway, including formal guidance and letters of recommendation for successful applicants, assisting families in securing approval for alternative educational arrangements where required.

WHAT

Each term is carefully structured to deliver a progressive, balanced, and high-level year of training. While timetables may vary, triple threat training remains central to every week.

A typical Academy day will consist of five classes, which may include:

• Technical dance (e.g. Ballet, Tech Jazz)
• Conditioning (e.g. PBT)
• Jazz/Commercial styles
• Singing
• Acting

TERM 1 – TECHNICAL FOUNDATION

An intensive and highly focused term dedicated to establishing exceptional technical foundations across all three disciplines: dance, singing, and acting.

Students work in detail on alignment, strength, coordination, musicality, vocal control, and acting technique, with an emphasis on precision and consistency. Training is carefully structured to identify individual strengths and development areas, allowing tutors to deliver targeted correction and refinement.

This term is designed to build the technical discipline required for advanced vocational training, ensuring each student develops a strong, sustainable foundation from which to progress confidently.

TERM 2 – PRODUCTION

This term builds directly upon the technical foundations established in Term 1, shifting focus towards application, artistry, and performance under professional conditions.

Students engage in a structured rehearsal process, learning how to apply technique within choreography, repertoire, and character-driven performance. Emphasis is placed on stamina, detail retention, artistic interpretation, and collaborative rehearsal discipline.

The term culminates in a curated showcase within our in-house Studio 5 Theatre, presented to parents and invited industry professionals. This performance experience is designed to mirror professional expectations, offering students invaluable exposure to performing in a real-world setting.

TERM 3 – INDUSTRY PREPARATION

The final term is dedicated to preparing students for transition into vocational training and the professional industry.

Training becomes increasingly industry-facing, with a strong focus on audition technique, versatility, adaptability, and professional presentation. Students explore contrasting material, refine audition pieces, and develop the ability to respond quickly and effectively to direction.

This term includes specialist workshops with guest industry professionals, alongside practical training in self-taping, casting etiquette, and audition psychology. Students are encouraged to refine their individual identity as performers, ensuring they leave with clarity, confidence, and readiness for the next stage of their journey.
